I rode 18 miles about 10 days ago and my tail bone is in excruciating pain. How long will it take to heal and is there anything I can do to help the pain?

  1. Unless your tailbone protrudes more than the average person's, I think you need to look more closely at the seat.  While your "sit bones" may take a few rides to get accustomed to a properly adjusted seat, your tailbone should not be supporting enough weight to cause pressure on itself (that is, if your tailbone even makes contact with the seat at all).

Either your seat is wrong for your anatomy, or it is adjusted improperly...or both.

  2. just don't ride for 1 or 2 days and itl heal

  3. "...10 days ago and my tail bone is in excruciating pain..."

Usually only a day or 3.  This sounds worrisome, 10 Days?!?!?!
