Was the pressure simply too much for the French team, and how long will their journey last in their bid to win the ultimate prize in rugby, The Webb Ellis Cup. The French still have to play Ireland in pool play, can they front up?

  1. Well done to the Pumas. They will be the dark horses in this competition mark my words. Even the supporters of France have to agree that the Argentinians were on another level. It was an awesome display of guts and heart.

The French were never really in the game and have only themselves to blame. They tried to play the same game as the Argentinians and I thought they will have enough experience to be able to play their own game. In rugby if you dont have a lot of possession, do not kick the ball for an up and under. And guess what they did? No offense to the french but that was a pathetic performance.

The French have had great victories in the quarters and semis but have never won the final. Because of the fact that they are so inconsistent. They cant win 3 tough games in a row.

The French will come out and play like their lives depend on it, the Irish should take note of this because if they play smart they can beat them.

The game however will not be a close one. I think one team will be dominant. Either the French are going to play their hearts out or the Irish are going to defend well. Whoever does it best will win.

I dont think France will go all the way. However Im hoping they at least get to the semis as it wont do the worldcup any good if the host team goes out this early.

  2. They can beat the Irish even though they are the best team from the home nations.  I think the real game will be against Argentina, can they rise for this one.  I hope so.

  3. Argentina did Ireland no favours at all.  France are going to hit the Ireland game like their lives depend on it... because they do!    Argentina somehow managed to get France to play their style and they got the win they deserved.  France's style is better suited to beat teams like Ireland than Argentina and I think they will.  I also think that Ireland would have learnt a whole lot from watching that game and I don't think they will let Argentina lure them into that grinding game.

I think it is going to end up with all three of those teams having one loss each and bonus points are going to decide it, maybe even points for and against which is not going to be a good thing for any of the teams in the pool.  The top three are going to be really hesitant to play their backup players in the Namibia and Georgia games because they may need the points differential, so that is too bad for the minnows.  It is also bad news for the top three because they need to weigh the need for points against resting key players for the playoffs if they do make it.

I certainly hope Argentina makes it through, but I think that Ireland and France play a more expansive game that will net them more points eventually, and Argentina may still be going home from that pool despite this fantastic result.

Anyways, as all teams should, Argentina should enjoy every second of it tonight, and then switch focus in the morning.  Congrats to the Puma's!

  4. I  Hope Ireland play out of their skin and  kick Laporte `s  arrogant *** .

Another loss for France will be good .

How long will it be before ,Laporte and France start crying foul and accusing other teams of being drug cheats, it usually starts after a defeat.

  5. Hawkeye said it all. Dam it!
