  1. 3-4 days for most foods, and then it will start going off.


  2. As long as the foods inside feel cool to the touch, they're probably okay.

    If there's meat or poultry in there, and it's not cold cold, it needs to be tossed out.

    Keep the refrigerator door closed, don't open it unless it's an absolute emergency (like for beer), and stuff will stay the same temperature for hours. 6 hours would be my bet if you never open the freezer or fridge.

    The freezer helps to keep the fridge cold too, so until you have total defrost, most stuff will stay cool enough.
