How long after wisdom tooth removal are you at risk for dry socket?

Also I would like to know when can you start drinking from a straw * that is the main thing i need to know! -thanks sooo much -Taylor :D

  2. I would say you are at risk for around a week to a week and a half.

    If you rinse your mouth with warm salt water at least 3 times a day then the sockets will heal a lot faster but only move the water around your mouth by tilting your head and let the water drain out instead of spitting, otherwise it can flush the bloodclot out of the socket.

    I would suggest to not use a straw for the first week or so after the extraction. Be very careful when eating and make sure you don't get any bits of food in the sockets!

  3. I honestly don't much about it but... I suggest you wait to drink from a straw until you ask your dentist.
