How long would a constant current of 12.0 amperes be required to flow in order for 5000 coulombs of charge to pass through a cell?

  1. if memory serves, 1 amp is a coulomb per second. your current is 12 coul per sec. so it requires 416.67 seconds or 6.944 minutes


  2. Current is the rate of flow of (electric) charge per second.

    I = C/t

    We need to find 't' now

    t = C/I

    = 5000/12

    = 416.6 seconds (just 3.3 seconds less than 7 minutes of time)
