What is the process for an eviction?

Our rental house was sold in a short sale back to the bank, and we don't have money to move out on what the bank offered us.

What is the timetable of events that would happen if we stay until evicted to save our money to move out?? 90 days until we are notified of being evicted??

Please help explain this !

  1. It can be anywhere from 60-90 days so be sure to save up. You will probably get a notice before a constable goes out to take possession of the property. The notice may come about a week before they send out the constable.

    Hope your situation gets better.

  2. You legally have to vacate on the last day you own the house. If you stay after that you are liable for damages.  Don't stay.  If you make them evict you, you will have an eviction on your record and that is not good for when you really need a place to live in the future.

The eviction takes apx 25 days.

  3. They can get you out in 15 days.

Expect to be sued for damages, you can't simply refuse to leave after you sold the house.

  4. you still have to pay your rent even if you are evicted.  in the state where i live it takes about 45 days.  so you have the 90 days plus what ever the law is in your state. good luck.
