  1. The Titanic was found in 1985, 73 years after the sinking.  Even in more recent shipwrecks bones aren't typically found; the bodies float, for one thing.  The salt water where the Titanic went down would have gradually dissolved even bones, even without other factors.

There have been some articles of clothing found, mostly shoes and jewelry.  There were also a number of bodies taken out of the ocean by rescue ships.  Some of these bodies remain unclaimed and unidentified, and researchers are now using DNA to try to identify them.

There are areas around the ship that may contain bones, but they have not been searched.  Specifically there's an area where there are a lot of shoes on the ocean floor.

  2. The creatures that live on the sea floor can strip a dead whale in a matter of weeks.

I don't recall the team that found the Titanic finding any human remains, but there were clothing items, jewelry laid out as if a person was wearing it (but the person was gone),

  3. i dont know. but thats pretty disturbing to know anyway :S

  4. Water makes things go mouldy and grose.

they were probably fish food before they could rot.
