How long would it take a mature avocado tree...?

How long might it take a mature avocado tree to start bearing fruit once it has been cut back to the trunk?

my guess would be 5 years. i planted avocado seeds over a year ago. just this past week i noticed i have 4 trees coming up - they are a whole 5" tall. i am told that these trees grow best in very warm weather, which we are having now. good luck.
