This would be a private adoption with the mother picking the parents (relatives), using a private adoption lawyer, the father being considered unknown. In the state of Oklahoma.

  1. With fries.  Regular or Diet.  Okydoky and hold the father's rights - yep, got that

  2. I'm not sure about pricing, sorry. =) but I know it can take up to 2 years for an adoption to clear and the people adopting have to meet certain financial requirements. So....

  3. Well private adoption can generally run 40grand or more. The reason being is that the PAP often will take on the expecting mother’s medical bills, and sometimes pay for other things for her.  They also have to pay their lawyer fee and home study fees, court fees However in this case where it’s a kinship adoption it might be different. If I was placing a child for adoption I wouldn’t want the PAP to pay a boat load but even less if they were family.  This are some questions you should  ask your lawyer.

  4. Why is the father being "considered unknown" ?  He has every right to parent this child, unless the child is a product of rape.  Keeping the child's existence a secret from him will end up only causing the adoptive parents and the child a lot of heartache in the end.

As a maybe PAP, I would never ever in a million years want to adopt a child unless it was a true orphan, or for whatever reason ended up in foster care with all parental rights terminated and/or for some reason both biological parents were unable to care for the child.  Even if a relative of mine came to me to ask me to adopt their child and keep it a secret from the biological father I would not adopt that child.  Why?  Because the child is as much his as hers.  And he needs to be part of the decision making process as to what happens to his child, taking that away from him is harmful to ALL parties involved.  Not giving the father a chance to parent is ethically and morally wrong, and the PAP's and mother need to understand.  The PAP's especially need to stop being baby greedy and do the right thing for the baby.  Who knows, maybe the father won't want to parent the child either, and will be supportive of the adoption. And than, the adoptive parents will be able to look at themselves in the mirror every day and know they did the right thing.  Whether the right thing ends with a baby or not.  Because...I personally could not live with myself if I didn't do the right thing.

It's early and I am not thinking straight, so I hope this makes sense.

  5. Father "unknown" should be a red flag. The adoption can be easily overturned if the father is not properly notified. You need to ask your relative some more questions about the father.

Our dd father contested the adoption after our lawyer found him. He contested for eighteen months. A psychological evaluation found him to be dangerous to children because he was a s*x offender. None of this mattered because it is very difficult to terminate parental rights. Just before being incarcerated last year again for rape he consented to the adoption.

We brought DD home at three days old......she was adopted one month after her SEVENTH birthday. Private adoption is a slippery slope. The father has to be informed!!!

  6. Domestically too long/too much.  Internationally not long enough/not enough money.
