How long would it take daylillies to grow back after being mown down?

have an area that was mown down this morning and would like to see them grow back.

threw some fertilizer over them and watered them, how long will it take them to come back you think?

  1. It will depend on the amount of water and sunshine they receive.  I promise you, they will grow back!  Pruning will stimulate growth. Continue to care for your plants just as you always have.  They are wonderfully tolerant of abuse.


  2. they will sprout within a couple weeks and be up and green and nice again by a month.....

They should be sending up new green shoots within a couple days, and have long leaves back in a couple of weeks.  Daylilies are extremely tough and able to bounce back from ground level, in their active growing season, with astonishing speed.  If they are rebloomers you can still end up with another crop of flowers this season even with being mown down.

  4. They will rebloom next year...no worries!
