I'm thinking of asking a friend to mail something to our son, who is serving there with the Marines.

  1. Actually only about a month.

  2. 7-10 days.

Though sometimes it can take up to a month.

  3. If your friend is in the military or can use the military postal system it should be there within anywhere from 2 to 20 days so if you´re asking to send chocolate you might want to reconsider..

Although... I sent german chocolate and gummy bears to a friend in afghanistan before and the package took 6 weeks since they were at a remote location and when the goodies got there the gummies were more like big blobs of goo but they loooooved them! ha ha ha.. so go ahead, send whatever you like, any mail down range is always appreciated! Just make sure that if you are sending something, send enough so your son can share with his brothers in arms :-D

And remember that generally things like baby wipes and oreos will be sold in the military stores down there as well!

Hope your son returns safe and sound along with the rest of them

  4. Military mail is going to Iraq from Germany just in a week and packages take less than 10 days.

  5. not more than 3 days

  6. your friend in germany can use your son's APO adress. they only have to use the postage like within germany and bring it to any postoffice. the german postal system will give the parcel to the american military and it comes with the next military plane direct to your son. it takes about 6-10 days from germany. please notice the APO regulations, f.e. no perisheble goods, no alcohol, no explosives, no pork products.

very welcome among the soldiers are sweets (but think of the temperatures, no melting things), charmin toiletpaper (don't laugh, its' true), favourite books, ziploc bags
