  1. It would all depend on the size, health, and species of tree.

  2. depends on the tree species, its life cycle, its normal habitat, the size of the tree, the soil type it is in.Some trees will just drop there needles or leaves and go dormant, others will die in a matter of days, some live in such cycles and store water in there leaves or roots.

  3. which tree ??

there are millions of species and hundreds of conditions

and what kind of growth are you expecting

    normality is a moot point

optimum growth is optimum water supply for what the specie can handle .some have limits and will die if they get too much

others like Willow do not and they can live standing half in the water or all the way like mangroves

if you are making a bonsai it gets nothing apart from spraying the leaves with water

Trees harvest moisture from the air ,with condensation .they also produce it with evaporation

Some trees will bring water from very deep underground .like the great Till tree ,enough to fill a well ,if one builds a retaining wall around it ,this is a tree that lives in places with very little rain

other trees store water like the Baobab,

    and Cactus

Trees are called standing water ,99 molecules out of 100 are water.

some can go with out rain for many years getting enough from the air and soil

others for many months ,in places where it only rains one or 2 months in the year like Portugal or Spain

Older trees are much more resilient than the ones just come up they may need water once a week if they are trees from wet places like England.

Treelings in Nurseries get watered every other day

but they are grown for speed

the same trees would survive in nature on morning condensation ,but these will be much smaller and with smaller cells so a harder stem and smaller leaves.

or they may get the  odd rainfall once every other week or so

or more regular in monsoon regions ,

But remember that in Nature after a heavy rain fall in forest s where the ground is thick with Natural mulch ,the ground is humid for many days after the rain .

In Nature many treelings grow under the parent tree ,which drips water within the drip line from the crown every morning and evening

it is impossible to answer this very vague question

next time state species and climatic region .And whether or no the tree is in Natural conditions or in a garden or nursery

where they can have water every day if need be

    there is no average answer
