  1. How fast can you learn it?

  2. listen to american music, watch american movies, you learn fast by listening.

  3. About a year to become fluent if you live in the US or Australia.

  4. first you have to get a grasp on the way words are used, often having several meanings. Sound the vowels and consonants more rounded than other accents, and learn to not clip the endings of words.Inflection is necessary to convey the meaning, and if not used properly is a dead give away.

  5. like a long time for american because each region even down to the county/parish/providence level has variations

  6. Depends what kind of accent you have already and also you need to consider the different types of English and American accents.

I'd say American was easiest, just watch a lot of American TV. Then English if you learn a Southern accent - northern dialects are more textured and would take longer. Then I think Australian because it's very easy to do a very bad Aussie accent - a good one takes a lot of practice.

The best way to do each is to get video - youtube would be good 'cos you could get all these nationalities there - and just listen to the way people speak. Repeat teh vids, try to speak the lines you hear first of all, and when you've got those down pat try to say other things using the new voice pattern. Keep practising and eventually it will get easy.

    Best of luck to you!
