I'm not sure where the other respondants are getting their numbers from. When I use a treadmill, 4 mph is a very brisk walk that makes me a little breathless. 3.6 mph is a comfortable pace that doesn't make you short of breath or sweaty. 3 mph is too slow unless you have a 30 pound backpack or something. 4.7 miles divided by 3.6 mph equals just over 1.3 hours -- that would be a little under 90 minutes.

The average person walks at a pace of 2 MPH. At that rate it would take about 2.5 hours. A brisk walk at a 5 MPH pace will take you less than an hour to walk 4.7 miles. Using skates, a skateboard or scooter will get you there a little sooner. I have walked 5 miles in 1.5 hours.
