I am planning on getting my bachelors degree in Science, I would need that anyways right because I am not fully decided on what i am going to do, so for the years that it would take me to get my bachelors i could decide what i want to be, I was thinking radiography, optometry, or family physician, and possible pharmacist or sonographer.... just something in science, i just wanted to know basically though what i would have to take to become a family phycisian and how many years it would take, I would definetly need my bachelors of science right?

  1. It would take about 8-12 years, well worth it though.

  2. Yes get your bachelors in chemistry or biology.  Ask for the medical school track at your university to assist you.  You need to get practically all A's especially in the bio / chem classes for you to be competitive.

After 4-5 years of normal college, you'll apply to medical school.

Medical school will take 4 more years.

When you graduate you will have to complete fellowship/internship for 3 years ( i think that is correct for family practice ) and then you will be a full fledged doctor.

    Good luck.
