  1. I would say your best bet is a Spanair flight Barcelona  - Madrid (1h. 10 minutes flying time)

and then the AVE train from Madrid - Atocha Train Station to Córdoba.(takes 1h.45 minutes)

Plus a 20 to 30 minute taxi drive from the airport to Atocha (depends on the traffic).

For 50 to 60 euros you have flights from Barcelona to Madrid.

And for a similar price you have the AVE high speed trains to Córdoba...

I haven't found any flights into Cordoba itself...

Then you could also go by bus, which is cheaper, but evidently that would take much longer. probably a good 12 hours.

Or you could do all by train

The trains from Barcelona to Madrid take about 5 and 3/4 hours... and the price is not much different from the plane fare, so It's your choice... Train all the way, you wouldn't have to go from the airport to Atocha (it would save taxi fare)

    Take your pick...

  2. Are you related to Dr. Seuss? Your best bet to find out would probably be to search for a "Spanish Rail" site (although I don't know if such a thing exists). You may be able to find a discount flight too, though... but with some legwork, shouldn't be too hard to find out.

  3. Hi there!

Happy you want to visit my hometown.

I'm afraid we don't have an airport in Cordoba (just a small one). Nearest would be Seville. Iberia, Spanair, AirEuropa and Vueling make this route in 1h30m. Fares would be around 100€ (120$) depending on how flexible are your dates. Then you take the bus (30min / 2,40€) or taxi (20min/15€) from the Sevilla Airport to Sevilla Santa Justa train station and just take a high speed train to Cordoba (30min/13€) or a slow train (1h30m/6€).

The other answer gives you the option to go from Madrid. It could work but just some advice about it. Madrid Airport is a nightmare. Everytime I need to go to or from there I get really stressed: flights delayed, long walking distances inside, crawded, not enough taxis and expensives. Besides, traffic in Madrid and around is chaotic. Depending on the day, getting a train ticket to Cordoba can be impossible.

So, just taking into account the price and time I would try to fly to Seville. Seville has a small airport so you'll get out of there quickly and getting a train ticket from Seville to Cordoba is way too easy.

Just so you know. I was born and lived in Cordoba since I was 23. Then I moved to Madrid. I fly quite often because of my job and try to go to Cordoba from Madrid every month to see my family. So anything you need to ask, just contact me.
