  1. About 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on connections.

    Check National Timetable before travelling.

  2. just under 3 hours to Liverpool St

  3. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

  4. Depends when you propose to travel. I say that, for a check on www.thetrainline.com reveals that there is line work this weekend (Spring Bank Holiday) necessitating a bus replacement between Ipswich and Marks Tey which brings the journey to well over 4 and 1/2 hours. Don't rely (knowing how National Rail have operated over other recent holiday closures) for the line to be operating normally on Tuesday 27 May. Under normal conditions, the journey takes between 3hr 17 mins (the 50 mins past the even hours depts from Lowestoft), 3hr.27min (the 42. past the odd hours depts) and 3hr57mins on the 58 mins past even hours dept. Oddly enough, these last are the through Lowestoft - London trains where you are on only dependent on changing at Liverpool Street on to the Underground for London Bridge - maybe the difference is that the other trains allow you to change at Stratford for the Underground leg.
