  1. try to run 6 days a week but run one mile one the last day. every week bring your milage up. running a fast mile is about having a fast pace you can KEEP. so maybe work up to 11-13 miles (over all you can split it up) the first week. then go farther. its not going to be to hard.

  2. 3-4 weeks. 8 minutes is not as hard as it seems, and once you get there, i promise you will want to get faster. unfortunately it gets harder the better you are.

but eight minutes, i am sure you can get in a few weeks if you keep running at least a mile. you might want to run a little more as you get comfortable. the more you are able to run the less a mile is going to seem. and thus become easier to run.

you can do it. all you have to do, really is jog non-stop at a faster pace than powerwalking and you will get 8 minutes.

  3. It probably wouldn't take very long at all. At first at school I was doing 7:48 per mile then I decided to train for a 5k. I trained for a week.  Once I got back running a mile my time was 6:22 from there I quickly lowered it to 6:15 where I kind of reached a plateau. But runners times will go down very quickly if the training is good. What I would suggest is running back to back 400s at a pace of 1:30 each.

  4. It should only take a few weeks, but never just run a mile, if you're going to run, at least run 4.

  5. It would only take eight minutes.
