  1. depends on how fast your car is

  2. It would depend very much on the time of the year, what class of sailing vessel, and how she was rigged. Between the beginning of June and the end of August, the passage round Cape Horn, for a vessel relying exclusively on sail, could be well nigh impossible or extremely damaging.

Average passage times for passenger-carrying three masted ships, in summer in the Southern Ocean (November through February), would range from 3 to 6 months depending on the weather and whether or not it was an "el nino" or "la nina" or ordinary year.

The "el nino" and "la nina" mass surface water movements in the Central Pacific ocean, affects the Humbolt current which runs North up the coasts of Chile, Peru, and Ecuador
