Just wondering how long you think it would take if that was the main activity with few distractions other than life sustaining activities such as eating, etc.

  1. It would depend on your concentration level. It would be pretty boring reading something without any characters or plot to captivate your interest and I'd think you'd forget the majority of it very quickly.

  2. It won't help you, trust me... What will help you is reading classical literature, that is how I ended up receiving an 800 on the SAT critical reading/writing portion :)!

  3. Could it be meaningful? It would be pretty pointless. Why don't you try it and let us know?

  4. 1 year

  5. Everyone absorbs information at a different speed. i think it would take more than 6 months.

  6. Infinity, or your lifetime, whichever comes first.  Going through a thesaurus outside of the context of needing it for something specific is going to equal zero learning.  Instead, use it every single time you  need a synonym or antonym.  Keep it close by.  It will greatly increase your vocabulary, but if you want to know the secret to increasing your vocabulary, it is reading like crazy at or just above your reading level.  I have an outstanding, A-class vocabulary, and it all came from books, not a thesaurus, though I still use one when I need it.
