How long would it take to sail from San Diego to the South Pacific Islands?

  2. It depends on the season. You could do in the boat you mention. Most important would be storing water and food. There are times of no wind on the Pacific and tremendous storms. The time varies considerably, but about a month.

I would estimate between 35 and 50 days based on seeing timings of somewhat larger cruising sailboats sailing from PV to the Marquesas as part of the Pacific Puddle Jump.  25' may be a little small, however.  And having only a single sail doesn't leave you much in the way of backup in case of trouble.  I would suggest trying a sail down from SD to Cabo as a similar adventure without putting oneself into too much danger.  Jimmy Cornell's books on World Cruising Routes might be helpful in researching appropriate seasons for such a cruise.
