It will take more than a day, won't it? Don't you have to let the tile set, then grout it, then let that dry, then seal it? Even if the bathroom is tiny, won't it still take several days?

  1. yes, it will take more than a day, you must lay "the field' which is the majority of the tile without the cuts around the edges, let the mortar dry, make your cuts and let dry, grout and let dry and then  seal.....depending on how large a space plan on 2-3 days....

  2. After you put the tiles, you need 24 hours before you'll start grouting them. You don't have to wait more then that;)

Advise: use the "spacers" (3/8" or 1/4" depending on tile size) while putting the tiles. That way you'll get spaces between the tiles ideal.

Next day put grout , wait 10-15 minutes , wipe them out 2-3 times

  3. Couple of days.  You'll need to let the tile set for a day before you grout.  Two days for a small job.

  4. a lot longer than you think, because of the many cuts you will have to make.  at least 2 days if you have a tile cutter and saw.

  5. The process depends on the type of tile. I used the self adheasive tile. Which, was cheaper and quicker. I only had to peal the paper off, and place it where it needed to be. Of course, cutting some pieces to fit around the sink and toilet. (TIP: When cutting the pieces, cut them a little larger so that you can slide the extra length under the rim of the toilet and whatever else you are laying around.) Then, I used caulking around the tub. Our small bathroom is about 8' by 5'. And it took me about 3 hours. However, if you do decide to tile using the process you suggested in your question, it will take a couple of days. If you tile a floor that wasn't tiled before, it will stick up and look uneven. Good luck.

  6. Probably two days if the base floor is sound.
