  1. To walk it, about an hour.  To bike it, less than 15 minutes.

  2. Hello fellow biker....I'm 64 and bike around 1,500 miles a year here in Lincoln County, NM. (it's a large county).....LOTS of hills here (grades of 10% of more).  You didn't say anything about your age, physical condition, or location so the previous answers are accurate in their assessment of the time to do this.  I'm curious about the EXACT distance you state....what does 3.11 miles mean?

I average 13 mph here in these mountains (they're STEEP) and 18 mph in the desert flats (really flat) a few miles away.  So, you see, like they say in the commercials, "You're mileage may vary."

  3. Walking can take a loooong time, especially if you're clumsy. You should consider that other people out there may try to trip you-  or even push you down to the concrete.

And when you do fall, you have to consider recovery time. If you land the wrong way, you can be in pain for a long time....and if you break an arm or leg, an ambulance might come take you away and prevent you from reaching your destination.

When you ride a bike, there's always the danger that someone will make you mad and you'll throw it at them. You could also get a flat tire.

  4. it all depends on your level of physical fitness, how flat or hilly it is, and the weather conditions.

for me to walk it:  about an hour give or take a few minutes

for me to bike it:  about 15-20 minutes.

  5. If you are a decent rider, you will average between 12 - 14 miles per hour. So, that means that it would take you .239 hours which is about 14 minutes and 20 seconds.

  6. I walk 31/2 miles in 50 minutes, and bike the same distance in 10 minutes.
