What would the traffic make the drive like on an average weekday?

will i live just off 70 there at mt airy and i could make it to baltimore down town in just under 45 min and could make it a little after on speed just have  know where the cops hang out on 70 hope that help you out.

You can make it from Frederick to Mt. Airy in 15 minutes, no problem.  The problem is the backup between US 40 and I-695.

Eastbound I-70 traffic backs up essentially for 9 miles between Exit 82 and Exit 91.  You may want to exit onto US 40 and take I-695 South to I-395 North into downtown Baltimore, MD.  From Mt. Airy, that will take 30-60 minutes.  On the way back, you may not have as many issues so you're looking at a 50-60 minute trip.
