I will be leaving the country for 6 weeks, and I am going to be using the Olympus Stylus 850 SW. This camera takes a DPS BPOLM40 battery, which is rechargeable, but the problem is that I won't have an outlet to use for the majority of the time I am there... How long would it last? Do you think that if I used it sparingly, like for just 30 sec. periods every now and again that I could get away with it?

  1. If you use the good power management you are using it should last much longer that what could be expected under other conditions.

Then each time power is available, charge your battery ... I would take a couple of them and keep them charged as available.

When I was in West Africa, we had power about ten hours a week, but not in a row.  Most of us had our own plants that supplied power so we could keep the a/c running and work in the darkroom as necessary
