How long would you reckon from experience it would take someone like me to learn arabic?

Question

I speak porto and still learning more spanish. My dads egyptian and I want him to teach me arabic but I don't know if I'll have the time. I'm pretty good when it comes to languages in my opinion. I don't know if this is a stupid question or not but hey! Might aswell ask =)

I'm egyptian and i would say the easiest way to learn arabic is to watch loads of egyptian movies, listen to arabic songs, and try and get your dad to only talk to you in arabic.. you'll be a pro in no time.. and if you want to read and write i would say it is easier if you learn to speak it and understand it first..

ya maybe take notes and study now and then, there is no rush, take it one step at a time. i think  that u will be able to learn the languagw with practice, good luck, best answer please
