  1. Not that loud.....if you wear ear plugs. LOL

  2. a very loud, high pitch whine... especially during the beginning of the race when they rev they're cars simultaneously... you cannot not wear your earplugs...

  3. If I said they are 137.5 decibels,  would you be any the wiser?...

  4. well they rev at 19000rpm so i'd say very loud think of a aircraft taking off its louder than that

  5. Very loud. If an F1 car drove past while someone was screaming as loud as they could into your ear.......all you would hear is F1 car! It is a truly glorious sound though.

  6. really really loud. If you try to talk to someone sat next to you they won't hear you even if you shout at the top of your voice. If you don't wear ear plugs then your ears will be ringing for ages after the race.

  7. About 130 Db. On the terms thing in the Singaporean track's website it listed that. Something about it being our responsibility to bring ear plugs and ear muffs for little kids to protect their ears since the noise sometimes reaches 130 decibels.

  8. Louder than they have been for a while, no T.C.

  9. i used to go to the champ car races at long beach and stand under the concrete over pass on the back stretch, i was amazed at how loud they were, so i decided to try yelling at the top of my lungs as two cars whizzed by and i was unable to hear my own voice inside my head, i can only imagine that the tunnel at Monaco is even worse

  10. Very noisy, Noisier than a plane flying above you, well depends how far away from the car you are.

  11. put it this way,i went to a special that Toyota had for the Japanese GP it was held a few days before the GP and it was drove up and down a street, even though it was about 70 or 80 MPH it was insane. and i was only 5 feet away from the car...VERY noisy..my ears were sore for the rest of the day..People wanted me to wear ear plugs ,but how many chanced do you get to hear a f1 car?? so,i choose not to wear them and boy was it loud, but cool ,so so cool

  12. I have been to many F1 meetings and can tell you if you are track side or in a grandstand you need ear defenders, they are so loud you can't shout to someone sitting next to you to be heard

  13. It's the pitch of the motor that really hits you.  Loud yes but very high pitched.

  14. VERY !  More so at Monaco than anywhere because they race below the surrounding hills.....It's great there. (don't ever wear ear-plug's though, it would ruin the effect, although you are a bit hard of hearing for a few day's afterwards)

  15. very loud lol

  16. Check this out.

They are loud, won't make your ears bleed like a top fuel dragster but they're loud.

  17. When I went to Silverstone I was seated near a loudspeaker that had the TV commentary blaring out, I said to my friend can they turn that down it's too loud....then the cars came out on track, it was as if the loud speaker was turned off I couldn't hear anything but the cars. It is the loudest thing you'll ever hear.

Edit: and before someone says dragsters are louder...there are generally only 2 of those at a time running....in F1 there are 22 (now only 20) cars running at once.

  18. very loud if you go to the race.  you'll see a lot of people wearing ear plugs and headphones to drown it out.  F-1 race cars sound sooo coool when they are speeding towards and past you.  There is no other sound like it.

  19. PHEEEEEEENNNNOEEOWMMM, loud enough? Lol.

  20. Yeah, as many people have answered, they are VERY LOUD.

Sometimes your ears start to hurt if you are not careful, that's why a lot of people use ear plugs.

  21. They are really loud. Kinda like when you go to a concert, how you can feel the vibrations in your chest.

  22. I wore ear protectors at every USGP I went to in Long Beach years ago.

VERY loud.  More painful to the ears then the F-111's I used to work on.

  23. Really ******* loud!  It feels like there are four or five people screaming in each of your ears but it sounds nice.

  25. 147 db if you needed the answer in more 'scientific' terms.
