I am wondering how loud the Suzuki GS500f is from the Driver's POV, and from about a block away.

Also, Is it like a chainsaw, or a loud hum?

If I have a full face helmet on and have earphones on under the helmet will i be able to hear the music?

Kinda stupid question but I'm just wondering how loud this bike is gonna be lol. Thanks.

  1. who cares?

shouldnt be too loud, the manufacturers have restrictions

and no, you wouldnt be able to talk to your pillion, but you can get helmet mics/radios

you should be organised enough not to need them though

as for the eaarphones, i doubt it, but you dont need them, its way too much fun to need them

if its louder than you think, perfect your riding before you start to show off with wheelies and stoppies and hops and stuff...or youllfeel like a complete numbnut

congrats on the bike!!1 its a lovely piece of machinery that!! (jealous me..) hahah

  2. No stock motorcycle is very loud. If you put aftermarket pipes on it, not so much.

It's a parallel twin, so its exhaust note is more like a throbbing, but not lopey like a V-twin or high-pitched like a four.

I don't think however it's a good idea to wear earphones. You need to hear what's going on around you in traffic (it's also illegal to have phones in both ears, just like in a car.)

Wind noise tends to be the biggest problem really. But in my own experience it's not difficult to converse with a passenger at in-town speeds without a helmet (back when/where it was legal.)
