I am getting into car audio real big now. I am pushing 130 or so with my bass alone. I want to go big and better though. What should be the limit of how loud I go? I want to be able to drive down the street with the bass kicking, but I also want to show off at competition. So, how loud is too loud?

  1. 130 db is pretty loud but you can always have your competition set up in your car but not turn it up.   I was in a blazer with 4 15 inch juggernauts and about 8000 watts it was a daily driver but a comp vehicle too. the most bass i could stand.

  2. I don't believe there is a such thing as too loud, it's all in perspective but maybe if you can beat the record set by 13  Pioneer Premier TS-W5102SPL's of 180.3 (or .5) you might be getting close.

  3. Pardon!!??

  4. How loud is too loud?  That all depends.  If you are in Competition, every decible to every .x of a decible is important.  So depending on what kind of records you want to set, or who you want to beat in competitions is up to you.  If it's too loud for you, then maybe competition is not what you want?

Also realize some Competitors use earplugs.  Like Steve Meade.  Check out his installs and such.
