I bet my son 100 dollars we would see gas sell for under 2 dollars a gallon before 10 years has passed.

  1. That $100 will worth nothing in 10 years while the gasoline price will never return  to its good old days because all the liberal environmental extremists do not allow  the nation to drill in Alaska, Florida offshore coast lines, to build new refinery plant, to build nuclear energy plant, .... In their view, the survival of wild animals has higher priority than the poverty of this country.

  2. It's possible to make gasoline almost obsolete... pushing back to fifty cents a gallon or so. This would happen if alternate fuels were put into the mainstream as they should be already. (Electric-powered cars in regular production... not a few concepts that are projected as years away still.)

  3. Good luck with that one. I remember in the Carter years when people like you said gas would go back to less than $1 within a few years.

    1964 pack of cigarettes = 25 cents

    1964 gallon of gasoline = 25 cents

    2008 price of both = $4.00

What are we whining about? All prices go up.

  4. It will double every 18 months.

    0 - 4

    1.5 - 8

    3.0 - 16

    4.5 - 32

    6 - 65

    7.5 - 130

    9.0 - 260

I predict that the price of a gallon of gasoline will be $260.00 US dollars within 10 years. Of course the price of everything else will increase as well because our entire economy is based on oil.
