  2. Mmmm.  I would say that this could not really have a definite answer.

It could depend upon whether you were talking about the circle as a disk, or as a boundary.   And then you would have to look at the meaning of the word side.

I guess I would say there is no real definite answer.

  3. in 2 dimensional space, zero sides but it has an infinite number of arcs (curves circular pieces)

    in 3 dimensional space, two

  4. One continuous side. Or an infinite number of infinitely small sides.

  5. A circle has one side.  One continous side.

  6. well  we could say infinite  or  we could say none  :)  depends on if you  count each tangent as a side

  7. it's got two sides... like a coin, heads and tails.

  8. Two sides - INSIDE and OUTSIDE !!!!

    Nice question......

  9. Most of the answers make sense. E.g. We can't say a circle has two dimensions as we draw it on a sheet of paper and we can't look from any other direction. It is 2D.

But the point is we can say no sides and infinite number of sides.

    Q: Why no sides?

A: Because it's not a polygon!!!!! We can't read anywhere in the world that a CIRCLE IS A POLYON!!!

Q: Why infinite # of sides?

A: To answer this question we have to refer to the constant number PI.

    How did people find PI???????

They assumed circle being a polygon with inifinite sides, and knowing a lot about the polygon, they found the relationship between C and pi. Now if you say that it's not true that a cricle doesn't have infinite number of sides, then how does the theory that C=2*pi*r work?

All of this explains the different points of views. All the answers make sense and you can't say that one answer is definitely right and the others are definitely wrong.

  10. There is an inside and an outside to a cirlcle and that is the only answer >

The same as a 3 dimensional sphere. which has nothing to do with the answer at all.

  11. It is kind of a trick question, since a circle does not have any sides as would be defined for a polygon, e.g., a one-dimensional (straight) line. But I believe the answer you're looking for here is two. A circle is a two dimensional flat object, so it has two sides, like a piece of paper. Here, though, the sides are two-dimensional surfaces as opposed to one-dimensional lines. This is why I say it is a trick question, since the sides are defined differently, mathematically speaking. Also, I'm assuming you're not making a joke here, e.g., inside and outside.
