  1. Hi  =]

The ways in which Mangroves are important to other ecosystems:

Mangroves are a unique and significant ecosystem. They support a diverse range of plants including palms, trees, shrubs and even ferns, which have developed unusual adaptations to the prevailing environmental conditions.

1- Mangroves provide energy for their respective ecosystems. (The organic material in freshly fallen mangrove leaves can be utilized by other organisms. Which support a number of crustaceans and mollusks.)

2- Mangroves also provide shelter for organisms, both above ground and underwater. Mangroves are used by a vast array of organisms as breeding, nursery and feeding areas.

3- Larger mammals and crocodiles are a feature at some mangrove forests.

4- Mangroves provide nurseries for juvenile fish as well, because of their high biomass of available food and the refuge the roots offer from predators.

5- Mangroves prevent erosion with their thick, extensive root systems, by holding sediments together.

    Hope this helped =)
