How many 1/3 are in a 1/2 cup?

not confusing at all. So If I need a half cup, I should use 1 1/3 cup and a half of 1/3 cup. Thanks alot.

1/3 = 2/6ths

1/2 = 3/6ths

So you need 1/3 cup + half of that cup.

Invest in a set of measuring cups and spoons and a measuring jug. It is really worthwhile.

Avoid the ones that have a sticker as a label as they wear off. Also get a set with metric on so you can work from those recipes also.

ok this is gonna sound rly confusing but there are 1 1/2 thirds in a half cup.

one and bit!! go look at your measuring glass. it is marked off in increments 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, and 1

If you bring the fractions up to a common like sixths, you have 2 sixths and 3 sixths.

Why are you making this so hard....just use the 1/2 cup measure!  And, yes your idea will also be about right!

I want to see your recipe.  Why are you asking about 1/3 when in the next sentence you say you need 1/2 a cup?  If you need half a cup, use half a cup.  Thirds don't come into it at all.

OK - Try this, there are:

3 teaspoons in 1 tablespoon.

4 tablespoons in 1/4 cup (Or 12 teaspoons)

5.3 tablespoons in 1/3 cup (Or 16 teaspoons)

8 tablespoons in 1/2 cup (Or 24 teaspoons)

10.6 tablespoons in 2/3 cup (Or 32 teaspoons)

12 tablespoons in 3/4 cup (Or 36 teaspoons)

16 tablespoons in 1 cup (Or 48 teaspoons)
