How many 13 amp twin sockets are you allowed on a ring main 2.5mm cable twin & earth with a 32amp MCB?

  1. There is no limit on the number of sockets in a ring main -- although the 32 amp breaker does impose a practical limit of sorts.  You are, however, limited to a maximum of 100m² of floor area per ring.

    The only other limit is that there shouldn't be more sockets wired as spurs than there are on the ring main.  Of course if you are installing a brand new ring main, then there will be *no* spurs.  And however many switched double socket faceplates you *think* you are going to need to install, double it!


  2. Not more than 2 sockets. 2.5 mm cable max. load arround 20 amperes.
