In swimming, by the way. And also what stroke is best for burning calories (not butterfly, though).

    Really working it and eating right 1 week.  Keep your heartrate up, do some kicking.  Swim for at least 30 minutes 3X a week

  3. you'd have to swim for ages to burn that many calories.

    the best stroke to loose weight with?? is debateable. as a coach, i can tell you it's better to alternate between freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and to swim for a minimum amount of time or laps. start with 20laps of a 25m pool. do it slowly, change strokes or do kicking but don't stop, as it gets easier, you make it harder by swimming it faster or for more laps, etc.
