  1. i suppose it will depend on how often you will be washing.

i actually only bought a couple 3/4 oz bottles and the rest were 6 oz, then you dont have to spend money everytime they start eating a little more.

  2. only a couple.  why waste money when you can wash them.

  3. I wouldn't go too crazy. I had 4 4oz bottles and honestly never used them because my son started consuming more faster then I expected. Congrats!

  4. It really all depends on how often you want to wash them.  If you want to have a clean one each bottle without washing/boiling, I would get 12.  You may even want to consider just getting 4 or 8 and then getting the rest in the larger bottles.  You can use a combination throughout the day.

  5. I bought 16 ... but I breastfed my daughter til she was 6 months ... so I didn't end up using them til recently....

My daughter still only likes 4oz at a time ... so at least I didn't waste my money on them lol...

  6. When i had my first son i bought alot of bottles because i didnt want to have to keep washing them but the hospital sent us home with a big pack of glass bottles with formula already in them so i used those first. But you should'nt buy that  many because they will not be drinking 4 oz that long with this baby i think we just got like 6 maybe i cant remeber but dont go crazy.

  7. I haev 4 4oz and 4 8oz!

At about 3 months old, sometimes a 4 oz would be enough and sometime she would want more!

So I wouldn't recommend buying too many 4 oz cuz wihtin a few months, your baby will be mostly taking the 8 oz bottles~

  8. None.  Go straight for the eight ounce bottles and buy about twelve.  Emma was drinking more than a four ounce bottle could hold by two weeks.

  9. We had 7 or them and 6 of the 8 oz....we used them all. We had to run the dishwasher every other day at least. I wish I had just bought the bigger bottles to begin with.  Why don't you try and buy the big bottles and just fill them to 4 oz.  Then you won't have to buy big bottles later.....it would save money and the big bottles really aren't that bad to use!  Good luck!

  10. I would buy 4 and wash them frequently. If you buy 4, you can prepare a few ahead of time... and you don't want to buy too many and end up with a sink full of dirty bottles.

In a few months, you will have to buy the 8 oz bottles anyway.

  11. As long as the 8 ounce bottles have small enough markings on them (ie/ they have 1, 2, 3, 4 ounce lines) then just get the 8 ounce bottles.  My son was onto 5 ounces by 3 weeks.

We have 4 bottles because you are down to 8 feeds a day by about 4 weeks. Formula should be stored in the fridge for as short a time as possible so making bottles twice a day works well.

PS - are bottles incredibly cheap in the US or what?  I can't imagine having 8 to 10 bottles!!  They average about $10 each here in England - and then when you move up to stage 2 nipples they are about $4 each, and you need one per bottle. That works out to be a massive cost if you have 10 bottles!

  12. only 4 because in a couple months you're going to have to buy another 4 8 oz bottles.

  13. Depends on how many times you plan on doing dishes. I ended up having to run my dishwasher at least once a day, so I only had 3 or 4 bottles.

  14. I'm a breastfeeding mom, so I didn't have to buy bottles just yet.

But if I was in your situation, I would not even bother to buy 4oz bottles. I would go directly to the 8oz botles. Because before you know it, your baby will be eating more than just 4 oz.

As to how many you might need. Well... I would probably get a few, like a set of 4. Depends how often you wash your dishes. If you rinse them right away after feeding, they are easier to wash!

  15. at least 1.

  16. NOT THAT MANY BECAUSE SOON YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY THE BABY BIGGER BOTTLES SO I WOULD SAY START OUT WITH ATLEAST 5 AND THE MOST 10..I STARTED WITH FOUR & I WAS FINE...YEA IT DOES MEAN YOU HAVE TO WASH BOTTLES MORE OFTEN THOUGH..SO BASICALLY ITS UP TO YOU.,,

  17. about 24 i have to baby  and they arer trible but i had to buy 50

  18. My son is nearly 4 months, and I have 4 5oz bottles and 3 9oz bottles for when he gets breastmilk or formula in them.

I went with an avent sterilizer and it's not at all inconvenient to wash & steam them daily, really.

Even with his growth spurt hitting us now (eating 5oz every 3 hours), I don't have to do more than one run of bottles a day, if we gave him all bottles.

  19. 1 or 2 maybe. Personally I think 4 oz bottles are a waste of money. When he gets old enough he'll be drinking 5,6,7...and so forth ounces per feeding. You won't even be able to use the 4 oz bottles anymore. Buy the 7 or 8 oz bottles and save yourself some money. 5-6 bottles should be sufficient.
