  1. Conver 9ft to sqft. Then divide the answer with 4000sqft.

Where I'm from, we don't use the metric system. So, sorry for the bad answer.

  2. The area of a 9 foot long board is...oh wait you have no clue - wow. here's another question:

A 28 ft wide road is how long?

  3. 8890 feet!

  4.   Florita,

I need a little more information. Here's how I would solve the exercise. You know the house is 4,000 sq. ft.  You also

know that the board is nine feet long . What I don't know is how wide the board is. If you multiply nine feet by the width

you  deternine the square feet of one board. I.e., let's assume thatit is a 1x6. Multiply 108(  9ft.x12) times six inches. That is 648 square inches. Divide 648 by 144( 12 inches times 12 inches = 144 sq. inches = 1 sq. ft.). Each board is 41/2 sq. ft. Divide 4000/4.5=889 1x6 x9ft. boards.

I wonder though ,if the question involved board feet? If it

did here's how to calculate board feet. A board foot is one inch thick by 12 inches wide by 12 inches long.

I hope this is helpful. Don't be intimidated by those who don't use tact.
