  1. It depends on the scholarship. I didn't get a single A last semester, but I just received a $100 dollar scholarship for the bookstore at my school.


  2. Scholarships aren't typically based solely on the transcripts that you send in. Most applications have components that ask you to respond to essay questions and list extra curricular activities.

    These scholarships are often judged on a point system. While most points are usually earned for the grade component, you can make up for it by writing essays that capture the spirit of your personality and listing a lot of meaningful, character-building extra curriculars.

    While you can't change your grades, nor lie about the activities that you participated in during school, you can control one component of your applications: the essay.
