The Seventh Day Adventists predicted the return of Jesus on October 22nd 1844; Planet Nibiru (Planet X)was meant to pass the Earth in Spring 2003 causing mass destruction; The book "The Bible Code 2" written in 2002 predicted a nuclear holocaust in 2006, and then of course we had the Y2K bug that was going to cause global meltdown at midnight 31.12.99. Now we are awash with 2012 theories, mostly linked with the Mayan calendar, the predictions of Nostradamus and also the End Times prophecies of the Book of Revelation. Have I missed any and who believes in what?

  1. For every culture that has existed on this earth, there is a different theory of the end times.  Be it the ancient Norse belief in Ragnarok, or the common Christian themes of the coming of the antichrist, all pre modern societies developed mythologies dedicated to the end of the world.  IT would be impossible to understand and or learn of them all.  Most have, along with their believers, disappeared with the sands of time.

  2. All we do know for sure is the world will end by fire...

it says by a heat so hot it dissolves the elements!!! thats nuclear fission!!!

    Question is how?

    Theories are:

    a. asteroid (research indicates if its mass is large enough that ot can be equivalent to a nuclear blast big enough to lead to a mass planetary extinction.

    b. Solar flare. Definately able to flash fry the oceans and incinerate everything on planet earth in one big hit...

    c. Earth core meltdown. from mining too much oil natural gas and water it has left gaping hole in the earth crust. this has lead to a destabilisation in the Earths gravity field and is causing the inner core of the Earth to heat up. till eventually it overheat and KABOOOOOM!!!

    take ur pick!

  3. I'm still holding out for Ragnarok, it's the only one where i get to get drunk and see some gods get killed. The Mayans didn't predict an end-world event like people think of end-world events. they were a mature society in how they thought. all they did was write a calendar, mark out at each stage where an major change occurs, and that was it. 23 of December 2012 is not what anyone thinks, its just a change, the end of the fifth world. Fifth. that means there were 4 before it that we know about, which means someone survived them. andyway, it's all just going top be the planet going crazy with storms and earthquakes and things for a short while anywya, so why panic?

  4. well im swinging towards the whole planet nibiru theory, its cycle is really wide and a full orbit takes 3600 years, apparently its magnetic pull is going to destroy our world the next time it comes round ---2012 lol

  5. Book of revelations was written by a guy who was pissed at being imprisoned..so no I do not believe it.

Nostradamus predictions are like horoscopes and could apply to many situations...so not this one either.

The Mayan calendar went up to the year 2012...when you carve your calendar in stone there will come an end to how much stone there is and you will have to stop carving...so not this one either.

I think minor Apocalyptic events could happen by nature, like super volcanoes and huge earthquakes. A major event may happen from asteroids or some kind of incident with our own Sun.

I am scared religion will purposely cause an Apocalyptic event because they want one so bad.

  6. Yes!  you missed Jesus.....

"For then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.  In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved, but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short."   Matthew 24 v  21,22.
