How many BTU'S do i need to cool of an entire first floor of a philadelphia rowhome, HELP PLEASE?

i need to cool off the living room, dining room and the kithchen, but im not quite sure how many square feet it is. But any kind of advice or help would be a big help to me. Thank you

  1. More than likely 3 ton A/C will enough for a 1500 sq ft home with tall ceilings.

    This being said you need to figure the heat loss to narrow that down.

  2. figure on 1 ton of cooling for every 400 square feet

  3. I know my bedroom is about 250 square feet and I need a 6500BTU.  Your first floor is probably 3 or 4 times that size.  I don't think they make a 25,000 BTU air conditioner.

  4. You might get away with 5000BTU, but 8000 would be better.
