Hi

Ok so my LMP was on July 31 on CD 18 (aug 17th) I had spotting only about twice that day. Is that most likeley when I ovulated? If so how many DPO would I be? and how does this affect my period? Today im on CD 30 and still have not started my period so is there supposed to be a certin amount of days past ovulation that you are supposed to start your period? Thanks for the help.

Also Im asking because my periods have been off since may because of a misscarraige, first period took 38 days to show, second took 28, and now im on CD 30 and nothing but I did have spotting on CD 18 so I hoping this is a marker.

  1. on an OPK test the test line has to be the same color or darker than the control line to be a positive.  when you do get a positive you can ovulate approximately 12-36 hours after the positive OPK.  best thing to do though is to have s*x right before you OV, during and after to be sure.  I used mymonthycycles.com to help determine when i ovulate.  i started using OPK's shortly before the website told me I should be ovulating and within a couple days I got my +OPK.  so if i were you i would go to that website, put in your period date and it will tell you when you would have ovulated and then from there you can see when you should take a pregnancy test.  usually you can take a test 10-14 days after you ovulate.  i had the same problem you did, and since using that site it has really helped figure out what is going on with me.  good luck in TTC and lots of babydust to you!!!

  2. Yeah

  3. Hey!

    This is a toughie!

I would think you are right in assuming that your spotting on CD18 was ovulation spotting. If you deed indeed ovulate then, on August 17th, I would give it about a week past that for implantation, putting implantation around Aug 24-25 or so.

Since today is Aug 29th, I'd estimate as a VERY rough estimate that you could potentinally be 11-12 dpo today. So if you took a HTP today, it might not yet show postive b/c it would be too early to test.

I would suggest testing on Monday Sept 1st if still no AF. If BFN and still no AF by Sept 4th, test again.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Miscarriage is the most heartbreaking thing to ever have to go through in your life. Much dust and love to ya...
