My friend and I are going on holiday to Lloret De Mar out side Barcelona for 10 days in June. We were planning to go out for dinner twice, and about three trips into Barcelona. How many Euros do you think we'll need for our holiday? Also, as a backup, we think it would be useful to know how we can get money out a cash machine. How can we do this?

  1. The euros or down 1-25 to the Pound so you will need a lot more than you think only use the ATM at a bank not the exchange places have a nice time

  2. Actually, you need to match your cash machine to the logo on your card, thus, if you don't have a cirrus card, going to a cirrus machine won't do you a whole lot of good.  If you have a cash card (do NOT get cash from a credit card!!!!  the fees for getting a cash advance are outrageous!), you use it exactly as you do in your home country...if you have a pin number of four digits, you are fine.  If your pin is NOT four digits, you need to adjust that.  If you have no such card, get one NOW, as it takes a little time.

It sounds like you are not terribly familiar with the concept, so if I have misread this, pardon me...you get a card that looks (and sometimes works) just like a credit card...it will be attached to an account you either set up with it or already have in place.  You put the card in the slot for it, and put in the pin number, then tell it how much you want.  There are prompts.  It is made so that anyone can do it.  You can only draw as much as you have.  You can draw up to 300€/day.  It does the conversion inside the system, and charges you a small fee for that, and a fee for using the card and machine.  You should check with your card issuing bank to be sure you know how much those fees are.  They should be less than converting cash pretty much any other way.

    Have a great trip!

I wouldn't bring more than about 300€ with, since, once you run out, you CAN go to an atm and get more.  That way, you aren't carrying too much cash, and you aren't likely to lose too much at one time.  I tend to easily spend whatever is in my pocket.

  3. hahahaha barcelona quite far from lloret de mar!.

i have been lloret and it was amazing! i wouldnt wanna go out from lloret cause there is so much to do, and the ppl over there are amazing! i took £450 for a week and came back with £0. its quite cheap there for food and clubbing, but because the euro gone down i would think for 10 days u wud need about £650!.

  4. Shauna is right, but I think 100 Euros per day is too little for two people unless that only refers to spending money.  Allow 100 Euros per day PLUS the daily cost of your hotel and you should be OK.

  5. hi went there a few weeks ago , it cost me and gf about 36 euros to go to barcelona from the bus stop each , it takes about a hour to get there , also there is lots of cash machines in loret de mar , as far as meals are concerned your better off walking along the beach on loret de mar just keep walking till you get to the end of the beach , then you will have a short walk up some steps keep walking when you get to the end of the steps turn right keep walking untill you get to a place called err cant remember the name of the place but there is a hotel there all you can eat for 10 euro each , it takes about half hour to get there , oh you will see lots of wild cats on the way there lol the place im talking about is on the beach so you cant get lost and its a lovely walk lol , enjoy your hol byeee

  6. I would allow at least E100 per day to be on the safe side as Barcelona can be expensive. Also, you just withdraw money from any atm showing the Cirrus or Maestro logo, the same as a normal cash machine using your 4 digit PIN number
