Question:

How many GB would Windows XP be occupying at HD?

My Windows has the SP3 and is 5.20 GB big. I wonder if I can delete some files in folders with $ symbols or any file else that may be not useful. (Like installation junk).

  1. You can go to add/remove programs in control panel and delete any program that was installed by the OS, such as microsoft works ,office etc.or any program you don't need or use. As far as system files , best to leave well enough alone. Heres a tip for freeing up space. When running disk clean up utility , click on the more options box. If your happy with the way your pc is running then delete all but the most recent restore point . XP restore points are space hogs and to many of them can bog down your pc.


  2. um best to leave all that alone lol...5.2 gb is not very much anyway...
