know that our bodies are made up mostly of water. Does anyone know about how many gallons of water might be in our bodies?. This is just a weird question I had in mind, thanks to anyone who cares to answer either question.

  1. Often, it's not how much you drink, but how fast you drink it.

The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day - however, drinking half of that at once would be near impossible and if forced into you, might kill you.

  2. you can drink and drink as much as you want but you will not be able to overdose on water. You will throw up... I think its one gallon... same as milk

  3. I know on a firsthand basis that if you drink a couple of bottles in a very short period of time, you will projectile vomit. Easy cleanup, though.

  4. There is no specific certain amount.

This only happens if you drink a large amount in a very short amount of time. Like much quicker than 15 minutes or else you would just urinate or vomit.

A large amount in a short time throws off your electrolyte balances. However the healthier a person is the more they will be able to consume in that short time before they succumb to water poisoning.

  5. There was an incident a while ago where a lady was in a water drinking contest for a radio station, the rules being you had to drink as much water as you can without going to the washroom. She drank 3 gallons, and won the contest. She went home, after a few hours, fell into a coma and died.

  6. Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning) is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain function that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by water.[1] Normal, healthy (both physically and nutritionally) individuals have little to worry about accidentally consuming too much water. Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests, in which individuals attempt to consume more than 3 gallons (10 litres) of water over the course of just a few minutes, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet massive amounts of fluid are still consumed

  7. i dont know, but i've heard of people almost dying cause they drank too much water, lol
