you can't have a city that is below sea level and right next to the sea? We are wasting are time and money rebuilding there.

  1. As I understand it, there is nowhere else in the USA with such deep water right at the coast.  All our imported oil that arrives in tankers has to go there.  We could do without the coastal towns of Louisiana if we could do without imported crude oil, but otherwise we have no choice.

We could "make" folks live further inland and drive further to work, I suppose, but that would make their wages go up, and push the price of oil even higher...

  2. i always wondered why people who live below sea level. cmon think about it. a wize man once built his house on sand and look what happened

  3. LOL I dont understand why the government is doing this. It is a complete waste of energy and resources we could be using at other places with higher elevations so that people can avvoid the hurricanes and naural disasters. I understand why they are rebuilding because of the people who live their.its their home. Your wouldnt want to have to travel far away from your home beacuse some stupid feds came up to you and said B. this place is worthless. I mean wtf. PPL should get abrain and actually sit down and think about what they do before they actually do it!

  5. I agree, these places should be labeled uninhabitable, the government should move them to higher ground at least 100 feet above sea level
