  1. Generally, you'll get your total IB score after you've been accepted to and enrolled in your chosen school.  In other words, your acceptance into or denial from Harvard won't have anything to do with your IB score.

Even if you'll be applying after you get your accumulated number of points, this will have nothing to do with whether you get in or not.

To get into Harvard, there are many other factors which you should be concerned with.  These include

    - standardized test scores, such as SAT, ACT, and SATII Subject Test scores,

    - GPA,

    - extracurriculars, such as clubs and sports (Harvard loves students involved in sports),

    - and components of your application for admission, such as your admissions essay and interview.

For Harvard, you should be aiming at making yourself seem unique: don't just go for membership in clubs or an essay that's like every other straight-A student's.

To be a true contender, you'll have near-perfect test scores, be in the top 1% of your class, been president of (or even started) some sort of club or local organization, and have won awards for extraordinary achievements.  Either that, or you're just famous and/or have connections.
