  1. You already got many answers. And no need to get further answers.

    1024 is enough.

  2. 1024mg

  3. As answered 1024

  4. 1,000

  5. 1024 MB=1GB

  6. 1024 MB in a GB :)

  7. 1024 Megabytes Because 1024 Bytes = 1 Megabyte

  8. 1 kilobyte == 1000 bytes

    1 megabyte -- 1000 kilobytes -- 1,000,000 bytes

    1 gigabyte == 1000 megabytes -- 1,000,000 kilobytes -- 1,000,000,000 bytes

    1 terrabyte == 1,000 gigabytes == 1,000,000 megabytes == 1,000,000,000 kilobytes == 1,000,000,000,000 bytes

    1 byte == 8 bits  which defines 1 character  0-255 different combinations

    1 bit == a 1 or a 0  .. a yes or a no..

    1 kilobyte would be 1024 different possible combinations

    a factor of 8  rounded off to "1000"

  9. 1024

    Hard drive manufacturers say that it's 1000 because it makes the drives look bigger.  That's why a 200GB hard drive isn't actually 200GB when you put it in a computer.

  10. Technically speaking there are 1024 MB in a GB.

    However, it is common practice for hard drive manufacturers to describe 1GB as 1000 MB.

    Why? Simple answer, it’s a con.

    A 320 GB drive is properly 327,68 MB

    Buy a 320 GB hard drive and you will find you only have 320,000 MB.

    You lose almost 28GB. That is why you are being told variously 1024 and 1000 is the correct answer.

    I once complained to Trading Standards about this, but they said it is an accepted industry practice and would be very difficult to prosecute or bring about a change. I argued that just because a practice was accepted within an industry did not make it legal or moral. That if I decided that there was only 900 grams in a kilogram and began selling products at that rate I would be prosecuted for it no matter how long I got away with it. I also argued that perhaps the reason it had become ‘industry accepted’ was because it wasn’t noticed when computers only had very small drives and the discrepancy was minimal so nobody had ever complained and that if the case was investigated then change might be brought about. Alas, my protestations fell on deaf ears. So we have to live with the fact that 1024 actually = 1000.

    Until you come to pay, of course. then you'll find thier figures miraculously begin to add up!

  11. 1024
