How many Marine recruits eventually become scout snipers?

You need to be a rifle expert right off the start. then you must be absolutly outstanding for your battallion to send you to scout sniper school. Its not for everyone. Its for people that are absolutly amazing at it. Then the few that are chosen must go to USMC scout/sniper school, which has a huge dropout rate. People drop out every day. So, I would say very very very few Marines become scout snipers.

during basic or infantry school you hav to be qualified as a Expert Marksmanship which is the third class, theres 3 classes total, anyway if you can get that qualification in infantry school you can apply for scout sniper training, then in training they pick 5-10 guys out of 50-70 marines...they dont pic them there on the spot, they keep knockem' down till there narrowed down to the last 5-10

Not all recruits go to infantry and very few infantry go to Sniper School. One in a thousand probably.

Only the ones who have very accurate aim, good vision, good reaction time, very good judgement, and very good intelligence.
