How many Moms let their kids go naked to potty train?

My 21 month old daughter is more than ready. She rips off her diapers and training pants to run around naked and sit on her potty a billion times. I gave up and let her go naked LOL. We have the Pooh Bear Potty and it even 'flushes' so when you're done you can flush. When she's running around naked she'll sit on it like every 3 min. We haven't had anything in the potty and only one accident on the floor since doing it for 3 days. Just curious if other Mom's use this method???

I let my daughter run around naked always, she was potty trained at 13 months and potty traind through the night at 17 months. My other kids, I didnt have the luxury of a backyard and the werent nearly as successful, 1 at 2, one at3, and one at 3 1/2

i wish i could but i have carpet everywhere! p**p and Pee all over the carpet would just be nasty, so i can't do it!

I do! It was the only that worked actually. When I took off my daughters diaper that's when she went. She didn't tell me or anything...she just did it on her own. I think it works the best honestly! That's how my mom taught me too

We do, and not by choice. LOL

I'd be happy if my son would just push down his shorts and pull ups. I guess he just likes his naked time; if I mention going to the potty he just starts stripping. And when he decides he wants to go on his own, I always catch him in the bathroom naked sitting on his potty. He hasn't actually done anything in the potty yet, but *shrugs* if that's the way he wants to do it, I'm not going to discourage him. He's already 3 1/2 and I'm not above him doing things his way if it means he'll finally be out of diapers!

Yes, my little boy did this and was the exact same way w/sitting on the potty every few minutes.  It wore me out running to the bathroom every time he said he had to go. LOL  But yeah, it worked great for us because he never had any accidents in the floor when he was naked.

I used this method! I took the diaper off and my son was naked for two weeks (a slight exaggeration). It totally works. I will do it again when my younger son is ready to potty train. It's a very good method. How else can they speedily get in touch with the body/potty connection? I think naked is the most effective way to train :).

My daughter-in-law did this with my grandson, and it worked beautifully.  He also liked sitting on the potty.  I bet it didn't take him more than three days to get the idea.  We went out and got him big-boy undies, and he was so thrilled to wear them that we had trouble getting him to put pants on to cover them up when he went out.  The downside, he wanted to go to every single restroom in every single place we went to, whether it was a supermarket or a restaurant.  I think it was a great idea.
