  1. Population- about 2,500 polar bears are left today on the whole planet, sadly.

    The population rose about 32% from the mid 1980's. During that  time, the population was only about 800 bears left in the world. That's even sadder. :(

    Other Facts:

    Height- 8- 10 feet

    Weight- Adult males 550-1700 lbs; females 200 - 700 lbs

    Lifespan- 20 - 25 years

    Range- Alaska, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway

    Mating Season- Late March through May

    Gestation Period- About eight months with delayed implantation.

    Litter Size- 1-4 cubs, average litter size is two cubs
